VanderMolen, Carol Jean     "Bassett"

Palmyra:  Passed away on Monday, July 25, 2016 at the age of 78.  Carol was born in Auburn, NY on June 5, 1938 to the late Mary "Wing" and Forrest Bassett.  She is survived by her husband Evert; daughter, Pam (Tim Williams) Bolger, Jim (Eva) VanderMolen and Jeff (Stephanie) VanderMolen; grandchildren, Amanda (Rich) Diamond, Scott VanderMolen, Megan (Jason) Cheetham, Joe Bolger and Alex VanderMolen; great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Carol was a longtime resident of Palmyra and had been active in both the King's Daughters  and the Order of the Eastern Star.  She enjoyed traveling with her husband Everet and spending time with her family at her home.  Carol enjoyed working in her flower bed and had a deep appreciation for many of her childhood friends with whom she maintained a close relationship.  

Friends and family are invited to gather for a time of visitation on Thursday, August 4, 2016 from 4-7PM at the Murphy Funeral & Cremation Chapel, 123 East Jackson Street, Palmyra, NY 14522.  A celebration of her life will be held on Friday, August 5, 2016 at 10AM at the First United Methodist Church, 109 Church Street, Palmyra, NY 14522.  Interment will be in Palmyra Village Cemetery.  Online condolences may be left at www.murphyfuneralservices.com.
