Hector was a great classmate, anything he did he did well, he will be missed by all of us from not only the class of 1970 but many people who grew up in Pico Rivera.
My prayers to his family during this hard time.

To the family...May you feel the grace of Heavenly Fathers touch, and always know, you will see him someday...aI too, have fond memories of Hector, from hunting trips, to friendly visits in the early 70's, he was an usher in my May 1970 wedding, and always a good friend with a joke and a smile, and who could forget his interpitation of a elephant! If you never saw it, you missed a treat! I am so glad I had him as an El Rancho High classmate, and the pleasure of being called, one of his many friends! Rest In Peace Hector....till we meet again, God Bless you, and keep you by his side....a-Remember....no deer hunting in Heaven!!!

I was sad to learn about Hector's passing from the LAPD Rotator. We worked together in Newton Division and we both shared a love for horses. Hector had a great personality and was a true gentleman. Memories are the legacy of love, Hector is not gone, just waiting at the end of the trail.

My heart goes out to all of you. For Antonio and Katie to lose another son and Maria, Tony, Esther and Richard to lose another brother. I am so sorry. For Hector's children and Grandchilden to lose a father and Grandfather is just so sad. My heart goes out to all of you plus many other family and friends. The word has already spread among Hector's Rivera Jr. High and El Rancho friends. I have very fond memories of Hector and we were all so happy to get to see him at the 40th Class Reunion. We knew it took him a great effort to make it and it was wonderful to see him. I know he is out of pain and with God now. Again, I'm so, so sorry for your loss.

Hector was always gracious and very appreciative of the assistance he was receiving by the staff at GV. His life struggles, regrets and declining health were evident in his outward appearance, but his spirit always soared at the mention of his children, grandchildren, parents and years of service with the LAPD. Oh how I wished I had known it was with the mounted unit,we could have talked 'horse' for years! Im thankful for the opportunity to have ministered to him. May our Lord comfort you with the presence of his Holy Spirit at this time.
