Cone, Irene S.

Ontario:  Passed away on Saturday, March 17, 2018 at the age of 85.  Irene was born on June 9, 1932 to the late Elmer and Lucille "Sprague" Surline.  She was predeceased by her husband Richard H. "Dick" Cone on July 7, 2010.  She is survived by her children, Caroline "Pilly" Booke, Susan Terrien and Glen (Linda) Cone; 5 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren; sister, Kathleen Foster; brother Robert Surline; nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Irene was a person who enjoyed working and always had a need to stay "busy".  She had a strong work ethic and in her younger years was employed by the Eastman Kodak Company and worked on the assembly line.  She enjoyed the challenge of meeting her production quota. She primarily spent the years of her children's youth as a homemaker but would pick up small jobs; sometimes working in the DeLass Greenhouses, or spending time picking strawberries, and cherries.  Irene was also a sewer and did a number of sewing projects for the Masons and also knitted. She and Dick enjoyed traveling in their motor home.  She will be missed by those who knew, and loved her, but remembered fondly.

Friends and family are invited to gather for a time of visitation on Wednesday, March 21, fromm 4-7PM at the Murphy Funeral & Cremation Chapel, 1961 Ridge Road, Ontario, NY 14519 where a service will be offered on Thursday, March 22, 2018 at 11AM.  Interment will follow in Ontario Cemetery, Ontario, NY.  Expressions of sympathy may be made in the form of a donation to either the Pines of Peace or the Ontario Fire Company.  Please visit the tribute wall at www.murphyfuneralservices.com to light a candle, leave a condolence, upload a photo, or order a floral tribute.
