Palmyra: Passed away on June 22, 2016 at age 76.  Joanne was born in Newark, NY to the late Lester and Florence Burgett.  She is predeceased by her husband, Richard Oakleaf; sister, Geraldine (Frank) Lee; brother, Kenneth Burgett.  Joanne is survived by her children, Karen (James) Carrigan, Mark Oakleaf, Scott Oakleaf and Brett (Stacy) Oakleaf; grandchildren, Ashley, Matt, Brady and Sydney Oakleaf, Christine Hackert and Bryan (Janet) Carrigan; great grandchildren, Kaden Oakleaf, Connor, Katie and Sara Carrigan; brother, Don (Joan) Burgett; sisters-in-law, Jane Dox, Barbara (Roger) Bush and Carol (Ernie) Boyd; brothers-in-law, Donald (Debbie) Oakleaf and Dennis (Pauline) LaFleur. 

Joanne was proud to have obtained her single engine pilots license.  Every year, Joanne participated in the Korean War Veterans annual reunion.  She was the office manager for her husband at Oakleaf Landscape and Design.

Family and friends may join for a time of visitation on Sunday (June 26) from 3-5 PM at the funeral chapel, 123 East Jackson St., Palmyra, NY, 14522.  Her memorial service will be held on Monday (June 27) at 11 AM at Western Presbyterian Church, 101 East Main St., Palmyra, NY.  Interment in Riverview Cemetery.  Contributions in Joanne’s name may be directed to Hildebrandt Hospice Care Center, 2652 Ridgeway Ave., Rochester, NY 14626.  To leave the family an online condolence, please visit www.murphyfuneralservices.com.
