Johnnie C. Jordan

Palmyra: Johnnie C. Jordan, age 90, passed away on July 9, 2017 at her home.  She was born in Texas and raised in Louisiana, daughter of the late Eric and Emedean Childs.  Johnnie graduated from LSU and spent her career teaching high school in Louisiana, Missouri, Tennessee and finished with 21 years at Palmyra-Macedon High School.  She was a master teacher who inspired thousands of students, some keeping in touch for years after graduating.  Johnnie was smart, kind and loved to laugh. 

She met Don Jordan while working in Houston, got married and almost immediately whisked away to Limestone Air Force Base in Maine.  This was a quite change for a southern belle.  Johnnie loved dolls and amassed a large collection, which she took to shows to trade and sell. 

Johnnie leaves Donald, her husband of 63 years; son, David; and many close nieces and nephews.
