AnneMarie Palumbo Obituary

Palumbo, AnneMarie

Clyde/Honeoye

AnneMarie passed away peacefully on January 22nd, 2019, with her father and sister at her side. AnneMarie was born on December 20th, 1992, in Rochester, to Thomas Palumbo and Mary DeJohn. She is survived by her parents, sister, Christin Palumbo of Newark NY; brother Derek Downey of Ontario NY; brother Anthony Palumbo of Clifton Springs NY, stepmother, Pamela Abbey of FL and several aunts, uncles, cousins, relatives and friends.

In lieu of a funeral, and in keeping with AnneMarie’s wishes, a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. AnneMarie never liked winter, so the spring or summer is most appropriate.

Memorial contributions may be directed to the Strong Memorial Hospital Palliative Care Unit.

AnneMarie was a beautiful writer. Her ability to find the perfect words to describe a person or how she was feeling was just amazing. She also was extremely intelligent and enjoyed looking and reading about anything having to do with nature. AnneMarie would get into deep conversations with her father, about all of the places he had visited. She especially enjoyed music and dancing. Her favorite genre (which her dad and sister hated) was R&B and rap. When she wasn’t outside, you would find her in her bedroom or living room, singing and dancing. In the fall and winter, AnneMarie would watch football, rooting for her favorite team, the Philadelphia Eagles. She loved going to her sister's house and having her cook for her on football Sundays. Even though she hated winter, she would always take the time to go outside and go sledding with her sister Christin. They both would then come in and make a big mug of hot chocolate with extra marshmallows. In the spring, AnneMarie would go out and pick all sorts of flowers, go for walks, climb trees, and especially loved going to a park to swing. She also would take walks with her sister and her dogs. She loved going and getting ice cream with the dogs and would even share it with them when Christin wasn’t looking. During the summer, you would find AnneMarie at the lake or by a pool. AnneMarie loved to swim. Whether it was at Kershaw Park, Chimney Bluffs or at a friend’s pool, she would be swimming and surrounded by her friends and family. She treasured time with her family and friends. From trips to the bluffs in her Grandma Patti’s station wagon to meeting up with friends at Cement park in Canandaigua to swimming with her friends in waterfalls near Honeoye to just staying at home with friends from Spencerport, or just having a long car ride to talk and joke with her dad. AnneMarie cherished that time. Out of everything AnneMarie did, she especially loved time spent with her sister, and best friend, Christin.
