Gail Jean Slocum
“Auntie Gail”
Ontario: After a valiant battle with cancer, Gail passed away on November 11, 2018 at age 55. She is survived by her parents, Bill and Natalie Slocum; brother, Bill “JR.” (Patty) Slocum; sister, Karin (Mike) Montgomery; niece, Allie; nephews, Austin “AJ” and Travis “Tee”; aunts, uncles and friends.
Gail enjoyed traveling and was able to see almost all of the 50 states at one time or another in her life. Her favorite trips included visits to Amish Country and winter break in Florida along with an occasional Yankee baseball game with her brother to keep his spirits up during his own health problems. Her summers were spent at the family cottage at Port Bay when not camping with her sister and family at Southwoods. Her devotion to others was evident not only at work but at any event her nephews and niece may be involved in. She was their biggest supporter and cheerleader.
Family and friends may gather for a time of visitation from 1-4 PM on Sunday (November 18) at Murphy Funeral & Cremation Chapels, 1961 Ridge Rd., Ontario, NY. Please join the family on Monday (November 19) at 10 AM at the Furnaceville Cemetery, Trimble Rd., Ontario, NY, for Gail’s graveside service.
