Walworth:  Jerry Thorpe was welcomed Home into the arms of his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, February 1, 2018, after a valiant fight with heart disease and other sudden illnesses.

Jerry is survived by his beloved wife, Regina Gerhardt Thorpe; his children, Evan and Taryn Thorpe, Patrick Thorpe, Kailey Thorpe, Meredith Thorpe and Anna Thorpe; his granddaughters, Lyla and Olive Thorpe.  Jerry is also survived by his mother, M. Kay (Dave) Williams; sisters, Jackie Aldrich and Patti (Mark) Cooper; brothers, Doug (Judy) Thorpe and Davey (Vickie) Thorpe; and many well-loved nieces and nephews, relatives and friends.

Jerry was born April 4, 1956 and was a proud Iowa Hawkeye fan.  He graduated from Roosevelt High School in Des Moines, Iowa, and went on to graduate from the University of Iowa.

Jerry’s first priority was his personal relationship with God, which impacted every area of his life.  His love and service to his wife, Gina, his children and grandchildren, his extended family, and his church were unmatched.  Jerry loved to serve and he could fix anything!  He would not hesitate to go out at any hour of the day or night to “rescue” someone with a dead car battery or a friend who was moving, needed a tree chopped down, or any problem.  Jerry was very proud of his home, and his “leisure” time was spent fixing up his family’s farmhouse, chopping down trees, and working around his property.  We are sure that Jerry will be busy in heaven, asking the Lord what he can do to help around his new home.

Jerry also loved his work managing regional and national accounts for Harvard Maintenance, Inc.  One colleague describes him this way: “Jerry was a true industry professional.  He loved Harvard and the work he did.  He was one of the rare people who understood not only Operations but Sales and Customer Service, as well.  Jerry was always willing to do whatever it took to get the job done in order to exceed our clients’ expectations.  On a recent call, informing one of his clients that somebody else would be taking over their account until he got better, our client said, ‘I’m not sure anyone you send me will be as good as Jerry.’”

Family and friends are invited to gather for a time of love and remembrance on Monday, February 5, from 4-7 PM, at Living Word Assembly of God Church, 2344 Ridge Road, Ontario, NY 14519, where a service will be held on Tuesday, February 6, at 11 AM.
