Joanne, Wayne, and Laurel
I am so very sorry for the loss of Jackie which leaves a tremendous void in such a close family. When I called Jackie recently, he spoke very highly of his children and the successful accomplishments of his grandchildren with great pride. The conversations I had with him were always very positive, uplifting, and with such great humor that I looked forward to talking to him again.

On Christmas Eve, at our McMahon family gathering, I learned that Jackie’s namesake, John (Jack) Brophy Morris (senior in high school), plans to enter the priesthood. Jack (Morris) is the grandson of Peggy Hoopes, Jackie’s cousin. (Connection: My mother, Anne, and Peggy were sisters. Their dad, Joe Brophy, and Jackie’s dad, John, were brothers.) From that moment, I couldn’t wait to call Jackie on Christmas Day to share this story with him and to also get my “Jackie-fix” of an enjoyable “memory lane” conversation. Christmas Morning, I was saddened to learn that he had passed away on Christmas Eve.

To Jackie, for your service in World War II, thank you for standing for our Country and defending our freedoms and interests. As one of America's Greatest Generations, you will always be remembered. Jackie was a gentleman of great integrity.

Joanne, Wayne, Laurel and family, may the comfort of friends and family help you through this difficult time.
