Katrina Lynn Critchlow

Manchester: 46, died suddenly July 1, 2018 with her mother and a beloved friend by her side in the Clifton Springs Hospital. She was born March 24, 1972.

Katrina graduated from Victor High School in 1990. She graduated from FLCC followed by Nazareth College. Katrina worked as a payroll specialist for many years but always dreamed of being a published writer.

Katrina was a very active member of the First Baptist Church of Macedon, NY, where she volunteered much of her time. She served on the Board of Christian Education, served as Librarian, worked on the audio committee, assisted in a Bible study and many other roles as needed.  She loved to help others and made a wonderful difference in the lives of those she touched.  She had great faith in God.

Her interests included anything to do with horses or science fiction. If you visit her website at spiletta.com you will find links to Katrina’s Unofficial Thoroughbred Hall of Fame as well as a link to her discussions on Hippology- the study of the horse, and a link to Spiletta42 fanfiction where she wrote many stories about Star Trek, Stargate SG-1, Buffy the Vampire Killer and Roswell. She was prolific in her writings and had just finished writing a fantasy novel the day before she passed away.

She is survived by her mother and step-father, Mary and Dick Rice of Farmington, N.Y.; her father and step-mother, James and Kathy Critchlow of Arizona; step- sister, Nicolle (James) McDougal of Pawling NY; her step-brother, Brendan (Wendy) Rice of Clarence, N.Y.  She adored her nieces and nephew, Katie and Kenny McDougal, Aubrey and Teagan Rice. She is survived by several aunts and uncles, many cousins, wonderful cherished friends, and her amazing church family.

A celebration of her life service will be held at the First Baptist Church in Macedon, 58 Main Street, July 14th at 1:30 p.m.  All are welcome.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Victim Resource Center of the Finger Lakes, 132 Harrison Street, Newark, NY  14513, Homeless Youth Program, of Wayne Pre-Trial Services, 203 W. Miller Street, Newark, NY  14513, or The Colony Caregivers, P O Box 12, Shortsville, NY  14548.
