Palmyra: Monica passed away on July 15, 2017 at age 88.  She was predeceased by her husband, Charles; brother and sister-in-law Arthur and Julia Rohr; and three nephews John, Jim, and Jeff Rohr. Survived by her children: Eileen (Tim McAvinney) Barnett, Timothy (Gerrie) Murray, Matthew Murray, and Teresa (Larry) Gnau; Grandchildren:  Richard (Angela) Parkinson, Alan and Cara Gnau, Mark Barnett Jr.; Nephew, Jerry (Debbie) Rohr; 9 great grandchildren.

Monica was born and grew up in Fairport, New York. She helped care for her four nephews. Monica worked at the American Can Company in Fairport for 40 years. She married our Dad, Charles Richard Murray in 1967 and became an instant mother to four children. Mom loved her collections of magnets, nutcrackers, bells, Santas, Hummels, Mickey Mouse and Yoda. She liked to read about the royals in England and read many Danielle Steele books. She was very proud that she was the same age as Mickey Mouse.

Family and friends may gather for a time of visitation from 4-7 PM on Thursday (July 20) at Murphy Funeral & Cremation Chapel, 1040 Rte. 31, Macedon, NY.  Monica’s Funeral Mass will be held on Friday (July 21) at 10 AM at St. Katharine Drexel Parish in St. Anne’s Church, 136 Church St., Palmyra, NY.  Interment in St. Anne’s Cemetery.  Contribution is Monica’s memory may be directed to the American Cancer Society, 1120 S.
