Rachael Renee Szczypinski was born on November 5th, 1972 and passed away on October 31, 2018.  Rachael is survived by her parents, Karen and Mark Winchell, Michael Mosher, her sisters Jamie and Rich Kjar, and Sarah and Jeremy Owen, her Nieces and nephews, extended family, and friends.

Rachael graduated from Marcus Whitman High School in 1990.  She then graduated in 2003 from Finger Lakes Community College with an associate’s degree and graduated from Keuka College in 2005 with her Bachelors’ degree.  She graduated with honors for both degrees while majoring in criminal justice.  Recently, Rachael was employed at Garlock Sealing Technologies for over ten years. 

Rachael also served as a volunteer firefighter for over 10 years in the many communities in which she lived.  She enjoyed training, volunteering, and giving herself to those in need when called.  She was proud of the many firefighters she served with and spoke fondly of her times. 

            Rachael was a funny and caring person.  She liked being with her family and her nieces and nephews.   She enjoyed being out in nature, hunting, decorating, crafting, painting, photography, and gardening.  She loved animals, especially cats and dogs.  She will be missed by many, her family, friends, co-workers, and all that knew her. Rachael was remarkable to many, as a daughter, sister, and friend, but she was unable to see this in herself.   She was a bright light in the many lives she touched but a light that could not be seen by her own.
