“Dick”

Ontario: Dick passed away on April 19, 2018 at age 83.  He was born in Rochester, NY to the late John and Julia Jonas.  Dick was also predeceased by his brother, Gene and sisters, Dolores and Pat.   He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Elaine; sons, Rob (Jeanne), Ron (Sandie) and Rick; grandchildren, Bradley, Zach, Chelsea, Erica, Teresa, Carly, Emily, John and Jess (Tony); great grandchildren, Anthony and Macie; sister, Albina; many loving nieces, nephews and friends both here and at The Villages in Florida.

Dick proudly served his country in the United States Navy, during the Korean War.  He worked for Xerox for 23 years.  Dick enjoyed playing golf in New York and Florida, as well as meeting the boys on Thursday nights at Flags for a drink.  He also enjoyed working out and lifting weights at the gym.   The family wishes to extend a special thank you to the nurses and staff at Rochester General Hospital and to those at Lifetime Care, who cared for Dick while he was at home.

A graveside service for Dick will be held on Monday (April 23) at 11 AM in Pittsford Cemetery, 38 Washington Rd., Pittsford, NY.  In lieu of flowers, contributions in Dick’s memory may be directed to the Canandaigua VA, www.canandaigua.va.gov.
