IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Agnes P.
(O'Driscoll) Gordinier
November 16, 1920 – October 31, 2015
Gordinier, Agnes P. "Una"
Rochester, Greece, Wolcott and Walworth, NY: Died on October 31, 2015 at the age of 94. Una was born on November 16, 1920 to the late Denis O'Driscoll and Mary McCarthy O'Driscoll in the Village of Glandore in County Cork, Ireland. She was predeceased by her daughter Kathleen, in 2004 and her husband Chuck, in 2006. She is survived by her children, Charles J., Jr. (Cheryl) Gordinier, Maureen Tuffey, Denis (Lisa Schlachter) Gordinier, John (Karla) Gordinier, Sheila Gordinier and Timothy Gordinier; son-in-law Michael Landry; grandchildren, Sarah (Andrew) Battistella, Caitlin Gordinier, Erin (Lee) St. Louis, Colleen Tuffey, Kevin Tuffey Jr., Mischa, Toran (Sarah), Brian, Sam, Shannon and Tessa Gordinier; great grandchildren, Nevaeh, Aiden, Christian, and Alex; extended family and friends.
Una lived her life with devotion, selflessness and perseverance. She was married for 56 years, raised seven children, embraced her Irish heritage and was dedicated to her Roman Catholic faith. Following WWII, Una came to America and found work with Kodak. She and Charles "Chuck" met at Kodak and the two were married in 1950. Together, they would have seven children over the next 12 years. The two stood behind each of their children and supported them in their efforts to pursue a higher education and professional careers. When the children had grown up, Una and Chuck purchased property in Walworth. They would move from Greece and live on the "farm" for the next twenty five years realizing a dream that the two had shared for a long time. While living in Walworth, they were active in St. Gregory's Parish in Marion. As years past, the farm would become a greater task then either Una, or Chuck, was willing, and, or able to maintain. So together with their daughter Kathleen, they designed and built, with the help of family, a home in Wolcott, NY. Una would continue to live here following the death of both her daughter Kathleen and husband Chuck. Una loved cats and she enjoyed the many that helped keep her company. Sheila, her youngest daughter, would eventually move in with her to assist in her care and maintaining the home. In recent years, she was a resident at St. John's home by Highland Park in the City of Rochester. This is where Una would spend her final days. The staff enjoyed her wit and old fashioned Irish demeanor. Una will be missed. She will also be remembered as her children and grandchildren retell the memories they have of Una.
