IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Albert
Costenoble
January 28, 1924 – November 3, 2024
Albert Costenoble "Al"
Ontario: It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Albert Costenoble, on Sunday, November 3, 2024 at the age of 100. He passed away peacefully at his home in Ontario. He was predeceased by his wife Dolores, sister Elvira, brother Harold and daughter Ellen. He is survived by his daughters Diane (Francis Caherty) Costenoble and Carolyn (Robert) Johnson; grandchildren, Ryan, Evan, Clair and Colleen; great grandchildren Colin and Aiden; niece Helene (Richard Vanderbilt) Saxman; extended family and friends.
Albert was born on January 28, 1924, to the late Florimond and Emerence Costenoble, in Williamson, NY. Albert, known as "Al" to friends and neighbors, served during WWII in the US Army Air Corps as a pilot instructor. After his time in the service, his life revolved around fruit farming and raising his family. In addition to farming, Albert retired from Eastman Kodak where he had been an inspector. Albert's astonishing memory and recall never ceased to amaze those who knew him. He regaled family and friends with stories from growing up during the Great Depression, to his glory days in the Army Air Corps, diving in and out of the clouds, skirting lightning strikes, and rebuffing the offers of marriage from admiring women. Al was a fierce Euchre competitor and played weekly up to a week prior to his passing. He loved sharing an occasional Manhattan with a favorite neighbor, watching vintage Lawrence Welk shows, making home-made turkey soup, and babying his cat "Maggie"
Family and friends are invited to gather at the Calvary Cemetery (St. Mary's of the Lake Church), 5823 Walworth Road, Ontario, NY 14519, on Tuesday, November 12, 2024, 1PM for a graveside service with the rendering of military honors in remembrance of the service Al gave to our country.
