Kenyon
June 5, 1936 – May 2, 2024
Alice Kenyon died following a lengthy period of declining health. Born in Rochester, Alice was the daughter of Mae Fisher Kenyon and Walter Bills Kenyon of Kittering Road, Macedon.
Family predeceased include parents Walter and Mae, brother Jack and wife Sara Babyn Kenyon, brother David and wife Marcia Brown Kenyon, and brother Douglas Kenyon. Alice is survived by brother Peter and wife Sharmon Hazen Kenyon and by Douglas' wife Gayla Davis Kenyon.
Alice graduated from Penfield High School, from Cornell University, and from the University of Rochester (Ph.D. in Zoology and B.S. in Nursing with High Distinction). She taught at University of Georgia, University of Texas, and at Bethune Cookman College. Alice spent most of her career as a nurse at Thompson Hospital and then in private practice.
Alice's personal life was filled with the love of music, love of reading, and for the advocacy and support for the well-being of all animals. She was an organist at several rural churches and was a member of the Macedon Center United Methodist Church.
Janet and Tom Bills and Pat Rodriguez showed Alice great kindness over years of declining health. Aaron Manor Rehabilitation and Nursing Center staff provided compassionate late life care.
A memorial service for Alice will be held on Thursday (July 18), 5 PM at the Macedon Center United Methodist Church, 1160 Macedon Center Rd., Macedon, NY 14502. Alice will rest with family in the Macedon Center Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to your local animal rescue facility.
