Barbara Warren Lowe, age 96 passed away peacefully on September 6, 2026. Barb was born on July 27, 1930, to Frank W. and Helen Mierke Warren in Lyons, NY. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Richard M. Lowe, her son, Douglas Lowe and her brothers Francis and Bruce (Bunny) Warren. Barb is survived by her devoted sons Robert and Thomas (Marta); cherished grandchildren Catherine (Dylan), Elizabeth, Emily (Brian), Allison (Jeremy), Matthew (Lauren) and Christopher (Emily) and beloved great-grandsons Domenic and Bradley. She is also survived by her sister-in-law, Lois Warren, several nieces, nephews and their families.

Barb graduated from Lyons Central School District and Brockport State Teachers College where she met her husband of 70 years. They raised their boys in Fairport where she was a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend. She was extremely proud of her family and enjoyed attending their sporting events and cheering them on. As well as enjoying time with her family she liked playing golf, knitting, cross stitch and baking. Her grandchildren especially loved her various kinds of cookies however she was renowned for her chocolate fudge as well! She was very fond of her mother-in-law and emulated her with fabulous family storytelling, knitting of personalized Christmas stockings (even for a family dog) and building a strong legacy. Her afghan blankets, snowmen, slipper socks, potholders and plenty of mittens for the kids are family favorites. She will be deeply missed by her family who are truly blessed to have had her as their mother and grandmother.

Barb started her teaching career at Penfield Central School District where she taught physical education. She then dedicated herself to being a stay-at-home mom and returned to the workforce after her youngest was older, working for BOCES Foreman Center in food service and as a classroom aide. In more recent years they made their home in the Parkwood Community surrounding themselves with generous and supportive friends and neighbors.

The family would like to thank the staff at Aaron’s Manor for the care Barb received during her stay there. Donations in Barb’s memory should be made to the charity of one’s choice.
