Barbara W. Shanahan

Macedon: Barbara was born on December 31, 1937 in Rochester, NY and passed away on July 27, 2014 in Newark, NY, she was 76 years old.  She was predeceased by her daughter, Kieran Shanahan and her parents Doug and Eva Wehrlin.  Barbara is survived by her sons, Sean (Keli) Shanahan and Seth (Amy) Shanahan; life time friend, Lee Porter; grandchildren, Erin and Caitlin Shanahan, Erin Bartran, Amber Rice, Emma, Kenna and Zach Shanahan; great-granddaughter, Blair Daggett.

After training at the Eastman School of Music, Barbara had a life long passion for playing the violin and was a member of the Finger Lakes Orchestra for many years.  She was a bus driver for Palmyra-Macedon School District for 16 years.  Barbara loved her family and friends and will be missed by all.

Friends may join the family on Friday (August 1) from 10 AM-12 PM at Murphy Funeral & Cremation Chapels, 1040 Route 31, Macedon, NY, where her memorial service will be celebrated at 12 PM.  Interment in Macedon Village Cemetery.  Online condolences may be left at www.murphyfuneralservices.com .
