Bernice (Gianforti) Rinebold

Bernice was born April 4, 1935 in Rochester NY and passed peacefully away on November 23, 2023, at the age of 88.

Bernice graduated from Nazareth Academy in 1953 and Nazareth College in 1957 with a bachelor's degree in social work. After college, she went to work for Monroe County, first in the Child Welfare Department, and later as a Probation Officer until she retired in 1995.

After her retirement from Monroe County, she went onto work for Continuing Developmental Services (CDS. During her tenure there she was instrumental in laying the groundwork for their guardianship program, which has been adopted by other agencies to protect the rights of their clients.

She is survived by her children, Kevin (Sue) Rinebold and Sherri Rinebold; grandchildren, Kelly (Patrick) Hollenbeck, Brian Rinebold; great grandchildren, Liam and Rowan Hollenbeck; and life-long family friend, Mary Hughson.

Bernice is predeceased by husband, Archie and parents, Salvatore and Hazel Gianforti.

The family would like to thank the staff at Aaron Manor and Strong Hospital for their loving and passionate care provided to Bernice.

A Memorial Mass will be held on Saturday, December 2 at 11:00 am at the Church of the Assumption in Fairport NY followed by a reception starting at 12:30 at Proietti's in Webster NY. There will be a private interment held at the convenience of the immediate family. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Lollypop Farm.
