Ontario: Passed away with his family by his side, on Wednesday, January 28, 2015, at the Pines of Peace Comfort Care Home in Ontario. Carl was born in Ontario, NY on October 3, 1947 to Velma Alborn Fisher and Elvin Fisher. Predeceased by his parents, daughter Louise Rosdahl in 1984; Carl is survived by his wife of 36 years, Carol; sons, Robert (Mary), Thomas (Leigh) and Kevin (Kim) Rosdahl; grandchildren, Chad McCarthy, Andrew Rosdahl, Desiree Rosdahl, Victoria Rosdahl, Emily Rosdahl, Eric Rosdahl and Olivia Rosdahl; sister, Leora (David) Morris; brother, Robert (Judith) Fisher; nieces, Robin ( David) Fisher, Cindy (Matt) Sherrill, and Lori ( Kevin) Bixby; nephew, Steve (Kathy) Morris other family and many friends.
Carl served in the United States Army from 1966-1972 and received the Vietnam Service Medal with 3 bronze service stars, National Defense Service Medal, Combat Infantryman Badge, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal, Air Medal and a Purple Heart. He was born in Ontario on the family homestead located on Fisher Road, where he returned following his time in the Army, and he went to work for the Wayne Central School District and retired as the head bus mechanic.
Friends and family are invited to gather on Sunday, February 1, 2015 from 1 to 4PM, for a time of visitation, at the Murphy Funeral & Cremation Chapel, 1961 Ridge Road, Ontario, NY 14519. A Funeral Mass to celebrate the life of Carl will be offered on Monday, February 2, 2015 at 10AM, at St. Mary's of the Lake Catholic Church, 5823 Walworth Road, Ontario, NY 14519. Interment will take place at a later date at Calvary Cemetery, Ontario, NY. Memorial contributions, in memory of Carl, may be made to Wounded Warrior Project, PO Box 758517, Topeka, Kansas 66675.
