Carl Wesley Poole, Jr.

Ontario, NY:  Passed away at Rochester General Hospital on January 12, 2025 at the age of 68.  He was born to the late Carl W. Poole, Sr. and A. Joyce Poole on July 6, 1956, in Lyons, NY.

Carl was a 1974 graduate of North Rose-Wolcott High School where he played soccer for the late Ted Woods and Scottie Martin.  After completing a B.S. degree at SUNY Cortland in 1978, he began a lifetime career owning and operating a floor cleaning business while managing the maintenance department at Rochester Regional Health and its satellite offices in Wayne County.  Carl was strongly known for his outgoing nature.  People have described him as having a big heart and when you met Carl, he always wanted to know, and he remembered, your name.  Carl was also known for his passion to make things clean, which paired well with his career choices.  His favorite pastime was watching NFL football.  He was a huge Tom Brady fan and then became a Buffalo Bills fan.  He would have cheerfully supported the NFL additions of Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday Night Football.

In addition to his parents, Carl was preceded in death by his brother-in-law, Jim Porcelli.  Surviving him are his sisters, Norma (Joe) Gentry of Lodi, California and Connie Porcelli of Ontario, NY and his brother, Dale (Robin) Poole of Owensboro, KY, extended family and friends.
