Carol L. Ocque

Palmyra: Passed away on Sunday, April 24, 2016 after a long, courageous battle with colon cancer.  Carol was born on March 29, 1947 in Canandaigua, NY to the late S.L. and Charlotte "O'Connell" Lyons.  She is survived by her loving husband of 40 years, Richard; children, Susan (Jeff) Vandewinckel of Arlington, Tennesee, Michael (Jodi) Ocque of Wolcott, NY and Mark Ocque of Palmyra, NY; grandchildren, Jordan Vandewinckel, Jack Vandewinckel, Brian Ocque and John Ocque; great grandchild Riley Ocque; brothers, Donald Lyons of Clifton Springs, NY and Paul Lyons of Canandaigua, NY; special cousin Linda (Gary) Vogel; special friends, Sheila Bruisma, Julie Foster and Marge Laws; many other cousins, friends and extended family.

Carol loved her feline friends Hermione, Hannah and Momma.  She was very proud of her nursing background and practiced nursing for many years.  Carol enjoyed gardening, cooking and time with family and friends.  She was very outgoing and always had a positive attitude and a gregarious sense of humor.  Special thanks to Dr. Brian Smith and staff at Pluta Center, Dr. Melissa Schiff at Highland Hospital and the staff at Strong Memorial Hospital for their excellent care.

Friends and family are invited to gather for a time of visitation on Thursday, April 28, 2016 from 5-8PM at the Murphy Funeral & Cremation Chapel, 1040 State Route 31, Macedon, NY 14502 where a service to celebrate Carol's life will be offered on Friday, April 29,2016 at 10 AM. Inurnment will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery in Canandaigua, NY.  Memorials may be made in Carol's name to the the Humane Society of Wayne County, 1475 County House Road, Lyons, NY 14489.  Online condolences may be left at www.murphyfuneralservices.com.
