Charles W. Bartl
Ontario: January 22, 2015 at age 86, left us peacefully with his family by his side. Charles was born February 9, 1928 in Rochester NY to Jacob and Dora Bartl and went to high school at Edison Tech. He is pre-deceased by his parents; brothers Wally, Ray, Fritz, Jake and George; sister, Loretta. He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 61 years, Mary (Sanzotta) Bartl; children, Edna (Scott) Orbaker of Sodus NY, and son Richard Charles Bartl of Memphis, TN; three grandchildren, Victor (Jaimi) Bernardi, Zulma Bernardi and Ashira Bernardi (Brad Cameron); nine great-grandchildren, Nicholas, Alex, Yaiza, Jose, Zachary, Izac, Mallia, Sophia, Dominic; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Teresa (Bruce) Shultz and Rose (Dean) Hartman. He was loved by his many nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and neighbors.
Charles was a retiree of Xerox where he was an industrial engineer for 34 years. He was a veteran of the New York Army National Guard (retired from the 209 th Group) and was a member of the Xerox Pioneer Club. He was an exceptional handyman and never met a challenge he couldn't fix. He enjoyed travelling, reading, golfing, playing cards, working on his computer, being outside and spending time with his friends and family. He was a loving and devoted husband, a supportive and dedicated father and a proud grandfather/great-grand father. His sweet, kind and gentle ways will be missed and he will be forever loved.
Friends may call SUNDAY January 25 th from 2-5 pm at Murphy Funeral & Cremation Chapels, LLC., 1961 Ridge Road, Ontario NY. On MONDAY, January 26 th , friends are invited to attend his Funeral Mass at 10 am at St Mary's of the Lake Catholic Church, 5823 Walworth Road, Ontario NY. Interment Furnaceville Cemetery, Ontario NY. In lieu of flowers, donations may be directed to the Pines of Peace Comfort Care Home, 2378 Ridge Road, Ontario NY 14519 or via their website at pinesofpeace.org. We thank the angels from the Pines of Peace for the compassionate care, kindness and love they showed Chuck in his final days.
