Charles Iling Dostman, Jr.              "Chuck"

Ontario:  Passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 9, 2024 at the age of 77.  Chuck was born on Monday, June 16, 1947 to the late Charles Iling Dostman, Sr., and Margaret "Staub" Dostman.  Chuck is survived by his wife Joyce; daughter Heidi McIntosh; son-in-law Ethan McIntosh; granddaughters Madison McIntosh, Amelia McIntosh and Aristea (Jonathan) Campeau; sister Barbara (John) Milks; sister-in-law Pam (John) Noble; nephews Bill (Sandy) Dostman, Todd (Lynn) Dostman, Jeff Noble; nieces Kami Milks, Stephanie Hawkins, Tammy Dostman, Carrie (Randy) Van Skyle; 4 great grandchildren; many great nephews, nieces, extended family and many friends.

Today we remember, and celebrate, the life of a remarkable man, Chuck Dostman, a devoted father, loving grandfather, cherished husband, and loyal friend.  A Vietnam veteran, he served his country with bravery, carrying the strength he showed on the battlefield into every aspect of his life.  He was a rock, our guide, and our constant source of wisdom and strength.

As a father, grandfather, and friend, Chuck gave us the gift of unconditional love and unwavering support.  He taught us resilience, kindness, and the importance of standing by those you love.  His laughter, stories, and his gentle presence brought light and warmth to our family, reminding us of what truly matters in life.  He had a way of making everyone feel seen and valued, always lending an ear, or a hand, to anyone in need.

Chuck was also the epitome of the "Car Guy"! He spent hours in the garage building award winning street rods and cars.  He would also help out anyone who needed a tune up, or guidance, on what needed to be fixed, or help you locate that one car that you had dreamed of finding.  His garage was his sanctuary, and the racetrack was where he fill in love with speed at an early age.

Chuck was not only a hero in his service to our country, but he was also a hero in our lives.  He served his town by volunteering for the Ontario, and Union Hill Ambulance organizations as an EMT.  He faced every challenge with quiet strength and an open heart.  To his family and friends, he was more than just a man; he was a pillar, a protector, and a beloved friend whose spirit will remain with us forever.

Please join us to honor, and remember, Chuck on Saturday, November 16, 2024 from 3 to 6PM at the Murphy Funeral & Cremation Chapel, 1961 Ridge Road, Ontario, NY 14519.  Military Honors are schedule for 3PM with the United States Army, in conjunction with the American Legion, to recognize Chuck's service to our country during the Vietnam War.  Please visit Chuck's tribute wall at www.murphyfuneralservices.com to share a special memory, or photo.  In lieu of flowers, memorials in memory may be directed to Honor Flight of Rochester , to support honoring the men and women who have served our country. We are grateful for the memories we hold; and are comforted by the legacy of love and resilience he leaves behind.  He may be gone, but his spirit lives on in our hearts, guiding us and reminding us that he was an incredible man.  All are welcome to return to the home of Joyce and Chuck, for a time of fellowship and the sharing of food and stories following the calling hours.
