Cheryl was predeceased by her parents, John and Mary Mandabach of Penfield and Buffalo, New York.

She is survived by her loving husband, Scott Peters; her bonus daughters, Kaitlin Gilman (Robert Sr.) and Kelsey Brosseau (Kyle); her brother-in-law, Michael Peters; and her sister-in-law, Michelle Rice. She was a beloved Gam-Gam (grandmother) to Robert Gilman Jr., Benjamin Gilman, and Emma Brosseau. Cheryl is also survived by her sister, Susan Blozen (Jeff); her cherished nephews, Johnathon Mandabach (Samantha) and Anthony Blozen; and their children, Cole Mandabach and Ellie Blozen, all of whom will deeply miss her. Cheryl also leaves behind her beloved dogs, Rudy and Cocoa, whom Scott hopes to care for as lovingly as she did.

Cheryl was born in Columbus, Indiana. She most recently worked for Paychex as a 401(k) Specialist before retiring to help care for her ailing parents. She was a loving and faithful wife who cared for her family and household and lovingly served as a bonus mother while Scott was deployed overseas for three years as a member of the U.S. Army. Cheryl was a devoted Buffalo Bills fan and an avid supporter of Lollypop Farm. She and Scott opened their home to retired greyhounds for many years, often becoming “foster failures”, resulting in the couple keeping more dogs than Scott originally intended.

Those who knew Cheryl describe her as someone who could organize anything, a beautiful soul, and a loyal friend. During the last year of her life, Cheryl demonstrated tremendous strength and resolve as she fought cancer, even on days when she was exhausted and unwell. Throughout her battle, she maintained an optimistic outlook. She can now rest in peace and will be forever loved and deeply missed.

Family and friends are invited to a time of visitation on Monday, August 31, from 4-6 pm at Murphy Funeral & Cremation Chapel, 1040 Route 31, Macedon, NY 14502. On Tuesday, September 1, 2026, all are invited to attend Cheryl’s funeral service at 11:00 am at White Haven Memorial Park in the All Seasons Chapel, 210 Marsh Road, Pittsford, NY 14534. Burial will follow at White Haven Memorial Park directly after the funeral service. A gathering to share memories of Cheryl will be held in the gathering room in the All Seasons Chapel at White Haven Memorial Park directly after her funeral and burial.
