Ontario: Dale passed away on May 8, 2020 at home under the care of Lifetime Hospice. Dale is survived by his loving wife, Marilyn (Mathous) Adams; step-children, Michael (Karla) Mathous of Greece, NY and Heather Loucks of Marion, NY; grandchildren, Corinne, Maylin, and Lili Mathous, Rylie Loucks; great granddaughter, Kinsley Curran; sisters, Kathleen Sharlow of Gouverneur, NY and Keitha Marsh of Saint Paul, MN; sister-in-law, Dixie Adams of Ogdensburg, NY.
He is predeceased by his parents, Glenn and Kathleen (Jackson) Adams; siblings, Glenn Adams, Jr., Lynn, Douglas and Duane Adams, and Mary Bush; his 5 cats, Jordan, Harry, Goldie, Bud and Mooch.
Dale enlisted in the United States Army and served in Germany. He was in the New York National Guard for 20 years. He was honorably discharged as Sergeant First Class E-6, of the 209th Field Artillery. Dale was a member of the American Legion Post 428 in Ontario, NY.
Dale was memorable as a chef and he was well known for his Friday night fish fry and prime rib at Brock's and Capizzo's. He also worked for ARA at Xerox for 22 years. He retired in 1993. Dale was a man of few words but had a heart of gold. He loved being caretaker for our street and the elderly ladies loved him.
The family wishes to extend a special thank you to Rebecca from Lifetime Care and the whole staff at Pines of Peace, especially to Jan Bigler and Vicki LaRocque who helped Marilyn care for Dale at home. A big thank you to Kenny Capo and Doug Montgomery for all their help, for the past 2 years.
A Memorial Mass will be announced at a date and time to be determined. A private burial will take place in Furnaceville Cemetery.
