Obituary

Dan Montaglione, 57, of Waterloo, passed away May 22, 2024 after a long courageous battle with cancer.

Dan was born March 28, 1967 to James and Patricia Montaglione. He was a lifelong resident of Waterloo and well known in the community as a kind and generous person. He worked several years for Geneva mobile homes and most recently as a maintenance technician for Stanton Meadows where he was loved and respected by residents and coworkers alike.

Dan loved music, he played several instruments and could always be heard blasting classic rock from his man cave.

Dan will be remembered as a loyal and loving husband, father, son, and brother. He was always busy helping others.

He is survived by his wife Nancy (Underwood) Montaglione of Waterloo with whom he shared 33 wonderful years, daughter Sarah of Geneva, NY; stepchildren Alicia (David) Kidd of Idaho Falls, ID; and Joshua Monica of Buffalo, NY. He is also survived by his father, James Montaglione of Waterloo, brothers Christopher (Kelly) of White Lake, MI and their son Sean; and Aaron of Portland, OR; and sister Amy (Rich ) Ochs of Auburn, NY and her daughters Jami (Joseph) Heppler of Clay, NY and Alaina Leone of Camillus, NY. He is also survived by his 6 grandchildren in Idaho Falls, ID; Michael, Zachary, Liliana, Ivy, Avalynn and Jacob Kidd. As well as several other loving nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family members who will remember him fondly, including his brother and sister in law Dave and Laura Personale and cousin Pamela Doucet of Maine with whom he shared a special bond.

He was pre-deceased by his mother Patricia Montaglione in January of 2022.

There will be a burial of his ashes in Maple Grove Cemetery, Waterloo NY at 11 am on June 29, 2024.  Daniel's celebration of life will follow at the Waterloo VFW from noon until 4:00 pm.
