Daniel C. Newton

Victor: Daniel C. Newton, born June 11, 1953 in Rochester, New York passed peacefully on July 5, 2014.  He is predeceased by his parents Joseph and Susan Newton. Dan is survived by his life partner of 27 years, Leo Williams, and Leo's family. He is also survived by his sisters, Kathleen (James) McCann, Mary (Jerry) Meier, his brothers, John (Jeanine) Mattison, James (Joan), William (Annette), Joseph, Lawrence (Sue), along with many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Dan loved his 3 dogs, Sir Sebastian, Sir Woodrow and MiLady, as well as 2 cats, Bess and Tess, which were like his children; hummingbirds, flower gardens, camping, and traveling. He was adventurous in life and would often spontaneously suggest a day trip to an unknown locale and create a memory to share.

In recent years Dan and his partner Leo traveled throughout the United States and abroad, visiting Europe, the United Kingdom, the Mediterranean, Turkey, Hawaii, Mexico, and the Caribbean Islands.

During his lifetime Dan gave of himself by graciously helping others. Because of his warm and caring personality, he was loved by all who knew him, both young and old.  Dan leaves behind a host of wonderful friends in addition to his dear friends, Eva, Patrick and Bobbi.

A memorial service for family and friends will be held on Sunday, July 20, 2014, at 1:00 pm at the Mountain Rise United Church of Christ, located at 2 Mountain Rise (off Route 31) Fairport, New York. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to the Mountain Rise United Church of Christ in Dan's name.
