Our father/ brother Dave Bell, passed away after an all-too-brief battle with pancreatic cancer. He was surrounded by family when he peacefully passed from this world. He was predeceased by his parents, Vernon and Shirley Bell; mother-in-law, Dorthy "Mema" Thomas; brothers, Michael Bell and Donald Bell; brother-in-law, Michael Kukuvka; and granddaughter, Hannah Critcher.

Dave is survived by his wife, Joyce "Joy" Bell; children, Kim Bell, David Bell, and Matt (Holly) Bell; brother, Doug Bell; sisters, Beth Kukuvka and Amy (Rick) Willey; grandchildren, great grandchildren, 50+ foster children, nieces, and nephews.

Dave was the greatest example of a servant this world has ever seen. He and his wife Joy packed up to move from Tennessee to New York a few months back, and his church had a lovely farewell dinner before they left. We knew he had a servant's heart, but after listening to all the stories of the many good things he had done for people in their community and around the world, we realized that we would never fully know to what extent he had touched people's lives by being an example of Christ's love. He did not boast of his works, he hated being in the spotlight, and did not want anyone to praise him for the things he had done; we doubt he even told others in passing. Instead, he found a need and would fill it without hesitation.

He and his wife, Joy, did multiple mission trips and were foster parents as well. He touched so many people's lives in such a positive way. He will be greatly missed. Give everyone in heaven big hugs for us, as we know that is where you are currently at.

Family and friends may gather for a time of visitation from 2-4pm on Saturday, May 31 at Murphy Funeral Cremation Chapel, 123 East Jackson Street, Palmyra, NY 14522.A memorial service with military honors will follow visitation at 4pm.
