David R. Knorr
Ontario: David who was a lifetime resident of Ontario, NY passed away on March 15, 2015 at age 73. He was born on February 10, 1942 in Canandaigua, NY to the late Robert and Viola Knorr. David was also predeceased by his wife of 44 year, Beverly Knorr; brother, Thomas Knorr. He is survived by his children, Robert (Laura) and David (Jennifer) Knorr, Kelly (Joey) Spade and John Malone; 8 grandchildren; brothers, James (Kathy) and John (Shirley) Knorr; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
After completing high school, David joined the Army in 1961 and served until 1964. In 1965, David married the love of his life, Beverly. Together they raised 4 children. He was a successful business owner of Dave Knorr Collision, in Ontario for over 20 years. After retiring, he became a school bus driver for the Wayne Central School District for 18 years; 15 years of which he drove the special needs bus. David was a lifetime member of the American Legion, Post 428 and Ontario Fire Company, where he served as commissioner for over 20 years. He is also survived by his beloved four legged friends, Peanut and Snicky.
The family wishes to thank the Doctors, Nurses and staff of Rochester General Hospital, Hill Haven and St. Ann's for their care of David.
Friends may join the family for David's calling hours on Thursday (March 19) from 4-7 PM at Murphy Funeral & Cremation Chapels, 1961 Ridge Rd., Ontario, NY. A Funeral Mass celebrating David's life will be held on Friday (March 20) at 10 AM at Holy Trinity Church, 1460 Ridge Rd., Webster, NY. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Ontario Fire Company, 6160 Walter Cone Dr., Disabled Verterans, www.DAV.org , or to The National Kidney Foundation, 15 Prince St. Rochester, NY 14607, in David's memory.
