Macedon – Diane passed away on October 22, 2024 at age 83. She was born to the late Harold and Helen Jeffery.  Diane was also predeceased by her husband, Marvin Shurgot; siblings, Nancy Lynch and Rodney Jeffery.

Diane is survived by her children, Sue (Thomas) Hutchison, Kelly VanParys, Donny (Terri) Bavis, Beth (Rusty) Saucer, Kathleen (Rick) Schopinsky, and Ellen Shurgot; 20 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren; many nieces, nephews and dear friends.

Diane was born and raised in Palmyra, NY. She worked for the Palmyra Macedon Central School District for over 25 years in various secretarial and administrative assistant roles. Diane loved the lake house she and Marv bought after they married in 1984. They lovingly remodeled the cottage into the home that they enjoyed throughout their retirement. Many family parties and celebrations were enjoyed at the lake, so many fond memories made. Diane spent hours knitting, crafting with friends, working in the workshop with her husband on their latest wooden creations and researching her family tree. (without Ancestry DNA!)

Diane loved her family and grandchildren fiercely and was proud of each one. She created memory scrap books for each child and grandchild before the battle with Alzheimer's took hold. And we would be remiss if we didn't mention her love for dogs, most recently her companions Panda and Bella.

Family and friends may gather for calling hours from 2-5 PM on Saturday (October 26) at Murphy Funeral & Cremation Chapels, 1040 Rte. 31, Macedon, NY 14502. Diane will privately be laid to rest in Marion Cemetery.
