September 13, 1935 – August 1, 2025
Deeply loved by her family, Dorice E. Raw passed peacefully on August 1, 2025, at age 89. She was predeceased by her beloved husband of 70 years, Donald W. Raw, Sr.; her devoted son and daughter, Donald W. Raw, Jr., and Terri Lynn Beach-Holder; and treasured grandson, Christopher T. Raw.
Dorice is survived by her daughter, Kim (Kevin) Kulik; daughter-in-law, Marlies Raw; son-in-law, Kenneth Holder; cherished grandchildren, Jimmy (Dani) Beach, Haley (Alex) Leach, Evan (Marguerite) Raw, Kailee Kulik, Taylor (Laura) Kulik, Nathan (Jasmeen Rajpal) Raw, Shannon (Wendi Jackson) Holder, and Tim Holder; precious great-grandchildren, Breanna Laraine Holder, Benjamin Thierry Beach, Lilah Ann Kulik and Stevie Lynn Leach.
Dorice was born and raised in Washington, D.C. She attended McKinley Tech High School and served as a member of a singing trio in the USO, entertaining troops and injured soldiers. She married the love of her life, Don Raw, in 1953. She traveled extensively with her husband and children over Don's 20-year Navy career. Dorice's life was one of giving, gratitude, and faith. She epitomized motherhood, marriage, and friendship. Her beauty, grace, and genuine kindness will always be remembered.
Family and friends may gather for Dorice's Celebration of Life on Saturday, September 20, at 11 a.m., at First Congregational Church, 58 N. Main St, Canandaigua, NY 14424 (and via livestream at https://canandaiguachurch.org/worship-with-us-online/ ). Private interment will be at Woodlawn Cemetery, Canandaigua.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Advent House , 1010 Moseley Rd, Fairport, NY 14450, or First Congregational Church of Canandaigua .
The family is profoundly grateful to the angels of Advent House, and the U.R. Hospice Team, for their perfect care of Dorice and her family. Special thanks to friends, loved ones, Rev.
