DeWeaver, Edward F.

Palmyra:  Passed away on Saturday, August 15, 2015 at the age of 98.  Edward was born on June 5, 1917 to the late Frank and Estelle DeWeaver.  He was predeceased by his wife Frances and daughter Linda.  He is survived by his sons Edward and Richard (Barbara) DeWeaver;  son-in-law  Nelson Cook,   8 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, 8 great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Edward loved sports.  He especially enjoyed playing basketball and baseball.  He had some wonderful opportunities playing baseball in his youth.  He would play on organized teams that would travel to compete against teams in other areas.  He also enjoyed bowling and continued to bowl up until recently. In addition, he liked to shoot skeet.  Aside from athletics, Edward also enjoyed working in his garden.  He would grow zucchini and offer it to some of the area ladies who would in turn bake him zucchini bread.  He enjoyed growing, harvesting and sharing.  For many years, he owned and operated the Palmyra Dairy.

Friends and family are invited to gather for a time of visitation on Thursday, August 20, 2015 from 5-8PM at the Murphy Funeral & Cremation Chapel, 123 East Jackson Street, Palmyra, NY 14522.  Services and Interment at Irondequoit Cemetery will be private.  Memorials may be made in his name to the Palmyra Community Center.  Online condolences may be left at www.murphyfuneralservices.com
