Edward G. LaPlant           "Ed"

Palmyra/Macedon: On February 27, 2016 a flame flickered. Edward George LaPlant, surrounded by loving family, passed into the next.  Edward was loving, kind, generous and funny.  He loved to fish, eat good food, and spend time with his family.  If you spent just a short time with Ed, or Chloe, you were family.  Ed served our country through the United States Army during Vietnam.  He was a welder.  Ed was very proud of his Irish heritage and loved animals.  He loved his wife, Chloe,  and loved being a father and grandfather "Bepa".  His legacy was the love he created and taught his family; and the flame will burn eternal in the love, and laughter, his family now carries forward.  There never was, and will never be, an occasion where we could not find a reason to laugh; if even for just a moment and in honor of Ed, so is true even on this sad day.

Edward is survived by his wife of 46 years, Chloe Wheaton LaPlant; daughters (sons in law he considered his sons), Candy (Karl) Watts, Ruth (Jim) Smith, Jennifer (Matt) Adams; granddaughters, Tricia (Chris), Jaycie (Will), Megan (Caleb), Rielly and Elaina; grandsons; John "Bubba" (Jen) and Austin; great grandsons. Elliott and Oliver; sisters, Marianne Flamia and Alice Buckman; brother, Willis "Skip" (Aggie) LaPlant; brothers-in-law, James (Sharon) Wheaton and Bill (Chris) Wheaton; sisters-in-law Mary (John) Bray and Laura LaPlant; numerous nieces, nephews and friends who came across the miles to see him; loyal, and lifetime friends, Fred and Georgia Orr (Robert, his Godson Fred, and Georgia); and his canine family, beloved companion Bella, Joy, Shadow, Ginger, Copper, Beowulf, Cooper, Luna and Petra.

Edward was predeceased by his son Timothy Edward LaPlant; parents, Ruth McIntyre and Willis LaPlant; brothers Norman, Bob and Charles LaPlant; sisters, Tina and Judy LaPlant; brother-in-law Robert Flamia, canine companions Tammy and Jada and canine pal Ducky.
