Macedon: Passed away on Saturday, August 23, 2014 at the age of 82. Eddie was born on June 2, 1932 the son of Alfonso and Rosa "Velasquez" Ramos in Guayanilla, Puerto Rico. Eddie was one of seven children and is predeceased by his parents and siblings. He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Antonia Ramos; devoted children, Brenda, Edward and Harry (Mary) Ramos; grandchildren, Morgan, Robert, Thomas and Nicholas Ramos; granddaughter-in-law, Michelle Ramos; many cousins, nieces, nephews, other family and friends.
As a child, Eddie and his family moved from Puerto Rico to New York City. Eddie grew up in lower Manhattan. It is there that Eddie and Antonia would meet at at dance. Shortly thereafter, Eddie was drafted into the United States Army where he would proudly serve as a heavy equipment mechanic, at Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri during the Korean Conflict. Eddie would be honorably discharged, move back to NYC, and marry his sweetheart, Antonia. Eddie entered into the graphic arts industry as a lithographer and camera man. He would eventually open up his own shop know as D&R Graphics. Eddie was a member of the Amalgamated Lithographers of America and stood proudly with them and the values they represented. Later, he and Antonia would relocate to Upstate New York, first Fairport and then Macedon, to be closer to family. His passions included his family, the spanish guitar, graphic arts, photography, electronics, automotive mechanics, birds, dogs and learning new things. He will be greatly missed.
Close family and friends are invited to gather for a time of visitation on Tuesday, August 26, 2014 from 4-7PM at the Murphy Funeral & Cremation Chapel, 1040 Route 31, Macedon, NY 14502; where his celebration of life will be offered on Wednesday, August 27, 2014 at 10AM. Interment will follow at White Haven Memorial Park in Pittsford, NY.
