VanDelinder, Eleanor

Palmyra:  Passed away, peacefully at her home, on Monday, November 10, 2014 at the age of 83. Eleanor was born on May 7, 1931 in Palmyra to Ruth and Clarence Skeels. Predeceased by her husband Robert in 1989,  Eleanor is survived by her daughters, Barbara VanDelinder of Palmyra, Joni (Jonathan) Dubner of Webster; sons, Michael (Cynthia) VanDelinder of Naples, Florida, Terry (Margaret) VanDelinder of Schenectady, NY; grandchildren Emma and Adam VanDelinder; brothers, Les Skeels of Palmyra, Dean (Sue) Skeels of Lyons and Gordon Skeels of California, nieces, nephews other family and friends.

Eleanor was a nurse and worked for 38 years at Newark-Wayne Community Hospital. She touched many lives through her lifetime.  Eleanor was a lifetime member of the Palmyra First United Methodist Church and an active member of the Order of Eastern Star.  She enjoyed traveling and had the opportunity to visit over 40 states and several countries.

Friends and family are invited to gather for a time of visitation on Friday, November 14, 2014 from 2-4 and 7-9 PM at the Murphy Funeral & Cremation Chapel, 123 East Jackson Street, Palmyra, NY 14522. An Eastern Star Service is scheduled for 6:30PM. A memorial service celebrating her life will be offered on Saturday, November 15, 2014 at 11AM, at the Palmyra First United Methodist Church, 109 Church Street, Palmyra, NY 14522. Private interment at Palmyra Cemetery.  Memorials in memory of Eleanor may be directed to the church.  Online condolences may be left at www.murphyfuneralservices.com .
