Pennington, Elizabeth B.  "Betty"  "Red"

Fairport/Marshalls Creek, PA:  Went to her heavenly family on Tuesday, April 7, 2015 at the age of 94.  Elizabeth was born on December 31, 1920 to the late William and Elizabeth "Stouch" Bach in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.  She was predeceased by her husband Charles H. Pennington,  and two sisters, Florentine and Gertrude.  Survived by her children, Dianne (David) Barba, David (Judith) Pennington and Lisa Pennington; grandchildren, Kathy (Russ) Pierce, John Barba, Jessica (Michael) Dunn, Timothy (Ashley Finan) Pennington and Matthew Cleary;  great grandchildren, Kayla, Joshua, Clare, Aidan, Adeline, Kelsey, with an additional great grandchild due in May.

Elizabeth was a Sunday school teacher, PTA President, girl scout leader, census co-ordinator.  Elizabeth retired in order to care for her husband.  They moved from Oreland, PA to Marshall's Creek, PA.  Upon the death of her husband, she moved up to the Rochester, NY area to be closer to her son Dave.

A memorial service to celebrate the life of Elizabeth will be held on Friday, April 17, 2015 at the Fairport Baptist Homes Chapel, Fairport, NY, 4646 Nine Mile Point Road, Fairport, NY 14450, at 3:30PM. A memorial service will also be held on Sunday, August 2, 2015 at 11:30AM at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, 139 Craig's Meadow Road, East Stroudsburg, PA 18301. Memorial contributions in her memory may be made to the St. Paul's Lutheran Church,  or the Pocono Medical Center where both she and Charles had together logged in more than 9,000 volunteer hours, 206 East Brown Street, East Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania 18301.  Online condolences may be left at www.murphyfuneralservices.com .
