IN LOVING MEMORY OF

Elizabeth Kim

Stevens

April 11, 1951 – December 30, 2022

Obituary

"Yes, I am an artist. You got a problem with that, Pilgrim?"

Elizabeth "Kim" Stevens of Niskayuna passed on 30 December 2022, with Dean Martin singing softly in the background.  Kim was a professional portrait artist for most of her life, having graduated from West Virginia University with a degree in Fine Art, a penchant for traveling the country and painting with pastels for thousands of clients.  Early in her career she worked for NYS Department of Environmental Conservation, creating murals and promotional materials for various sites around the state. She became a resident artist on Jackson Square in the French Quarter of New Orleans, worked stock shows in the western states, and lived for a while in Brighton, England.

She joins that previously described back-yard party of the departed, with the love of her life husband and fellow artist Gordon "Bob" Roberts, her parents Everett and Kay Stevens, and much of the Stevens clan, poised and at the ready with maybe the last of the real regulation cherry bombs that signify the loss of yet another loved one.  She gladly joins all the four leggers at the other end of Rainbow Bridge that she and best friend Gloria knew and loved. She leaves behind a brother John W Stevens of Macedon NY, a nephew SCPO Michael Everett Stevens (Yumi) of Honolulu HI, a grand-nephew Finley Haruki Stevens, cousins Kenneth Carpenter of NY and Sandra Recca of NC. Dear friends Katherine Talbot, Nancy Hochberger, Joe LaMay, Sherri Reese, Jim and Debra Stout, Nancy Ellery-Kosakoski, Laurie Leenhouts, Jo Ayers and numerous others will at some point raise a proper Manhattan, without bitters, in her memory.

The congregation of the First Baptist Church of Macedon should be thanked for their kindness to Kim over recent years, as well as the staff of Pluta and Wilmot Cancer Center and the Strong Hospital ICU.  The western cousins through the Kimball and Stevens clans will be notified. Interment will be in the Macedon NY Village Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
