IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Frances A.
Storm
December 11, 1935 – May 13, 2025
It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Frances Storm, 89, who left us peacefully, surrounded by love, on May 13, 2025. Frances lived a remarkable life, dedicated to building community and spreading love wherever she went, often with a twinkle in her eye. She was never one to bite her tongue; in fact, she had a talent for keeping everyone on their toes and, at times, in line! Whether offering a cheeky quip or a gentle nudge, her playful spirit and candid nature made every interaction memorable. With Frances, you knew you were in for a lively conversation and a hearty laugh!
Born to Sophia and Albert Mikolon, Frances was a beacon of warmth and compassion, and the oldest of 8 siblings. As a child, she was active in her school, participating in the basketball and debate teams, cheering for her peers, and lending her voice to the school choir. Her passion for bringing people together continued throughout her life.
Frances spent many years as an Event Coordinator at Battlement Mesa in Colorado, a role that allowed her to create memorable experiences for the community. She was deeply involved in various organizations, serving as a member of the Junior Women's Club and as Choir Director at the Presbyterian Church of Delaware Water Gap. Later, she became a Sunday School Teacher at the First Presbyterian Church of Bethlehem, where she nurtured the next generation's faith and values.
Her commitment to service extended beyond her church and into the community, as she held many roles, including President of the Senior Citizens Club of Palmyra, Secretary of the Kiwanis Club in Battlement Mesa, and a member of the Auxiliary Board at Muhlenberg Medical Center. Frances's contributions were recognized through numerous honors, including being named Person of the Year by the Chamber of Commerce in Battlement Mesa, receiving the Commissioners Award for Garfield County, Colorado, an Employee Excellence Award, and an Award from the American Legion.
Frances is survived by her loving son, Jason Storm, and many nieces and nephews she adored. She also leaves behind her cherished sisters, Sophia Mikolon and Gloria Walters, and her devoted brothers, Bill Mikolon and Leslie Mikolon. Frances is reunited in heaven with her beloved son Mark Storm and daughter Lisa Storm, as well as her siblings, Beverly, Carol, and David as well as her dear parents.
A celebration of Frances's life will be held at the Western Presbyterian Church in Palmyra, NY, on Saturday, May 17th, at 2 PM, followed by a reception to honor her memory and the joy she brought to so many.
Frances will be profoundly missed but will live on in the hearts of all who knew her. Her legacy of love, community service, and unwavering spirit will continue to inspire us all.
