IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Frank S.
Venturino
January 13, 1924 – September 4, 2015
Frank S. Venturino, Sr.
Palmyra: On Friday, September 4, 2015, Frank passed peacefully in his sleep, with family by his side, at the age of 91. Frank is survived by his devoted wife of 66 years, Carmela (Gazzilli) Venturino of Palmyra, NY; daughter, Cynthia (Charles) Gunther of Palmyra, NY; and sons, Frank (Gail) Venturino, Jr. of Naples, FL. and Stephen (Jodie) Venturino of Rochester, NY.; grandchildren, Eliscia (Jonathan) Severin of Fruita, CO.; Andrew Gunther of Palmyra, NY, and Stephanie Venturino of Rochester, NY; and a great grandson, Nolan Gunther of Palmyra, NY. Also, survived by his brother, Tim (Genevieve) Venturino of Syracuse, NY and several nieces and nephews.
Frank enlisted in the U.S. Army at age 18, and after serving faithfully during battles in Naples-Foggia, Rome-Arno and the Anzio Beachhead Operation, he returned home, met the love of his life and started a family. Using his artistic talent and mechanical skills, Frank became a merchandise display manager and window trimmer at the Boston Store in Utica, NY. When the store closed in 1976, Frank retired. In 1991, Frank and Cam built their dream home in Palmyra, NY to be closer to their children and grandchildren.
Since 2012, Frank has resided at the Veterans Medical Center in Canandaigua, NY. It was there in building 7, floor 2B that Frank made friends, grew to love staff, and enjoyed the simple pleasures of life – like bags and bags of Tootsie Rolls. Frank will be dearly missed.
Please join the family on Saturday (September 19) at 9:45 am at Murphy Funeral & Cremation Chapels, 123 E. Jackson St., Palmyra, NY 14522. Interment in Palmyra Cemetery.
