George H. Lynd, Jr.

Gates: George passed away on Tuesday, May 24, 2016 at age 82.  He was born on August 22, 1933 in Rochester, NY to the late George and Helen Lynd.  George is survived by his beloved wife of 61 years, Lilly Lynd; children, Helene Wilson, Mary (Dan) Van Zeilen, Daniel Lynd and George (Joy) Lynd; 6 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.

George proudly served his country in the United States Army. He was an Aquinas Institute graduate, class of 1952.  As a young man, George was very athletic and played football, baseball and boxing.  As he grew older, George enjoyed watching the New York Yankees and Notre Dame football. He retired from Kodak after 30 years of employment.  George was a very generous man who loved to give more than he received.  His children and all children brightened his life.  George was very devoted to his faith and an active parishioner of Holy Ghost Church.

George's Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday (May 26, 2016) at 11 AM at Holy Ghost Church, Gates, NY.  Interment in Holy Ghost Cemetery.  Contributions in George's name may be directed to St. Ann's Foundation, www.stannscommunity.com or to a charity of choice.
