Gordon “Gordie” Lee Provoost, age 80, of Palmyra, NY, passed away peacefully on June 7th, 2026, with his beloved wife of 58 years by his side. As he took his final breath, he was welcomed into the loving arms of his Heavenly Father.
Born on April 21, 1946, in Newark, New York, Gordie was a lifelong resident of the area he loved and called home. He was known for his strong work ethic and dedication, spending 42 years working at Garlock in Palmyra before retiring.
Above all else, Gordie was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He shared a beautiful life with his wife, Carol, and together they built a family that was the pride and joy of his life.
He leaves behind his loving wife, Carol; his children, Josh, Rick (Christine, Britton), Marylou, and Jonathan; his cherished grandchildren, Cody, Carson, Kelsy, and Jared; and his treasured great-grandchildren, Jace, Cecilia, and Finnley.
Gordie will be remembered for his unwavering love for his family, his quiet strength, his kindness, and the countless memories he leaves behind. Though he will be deeply missed, his family finds comfort in knowing that he is at peace and reunited with his Lord. Friends and family are invited to Gordie's visitation on Thursday, June 11, 2026, from 5-7 PM at Heritage Baptist Church 2367 State Route 21, Palmyra, NY 14522. His Funeral Service will follow at 7 PM. A graveside service will be held on Friday, June 12, 2026, at 11 AM at East Palmyra Cemetery.
