Passed away on Wednesday, June 18, 2014 at age 89. Grace was born on December 21, 1924 to Florence and Alfred B. Clawson in Bolivar, Pennsylvania and was predeceased by her husband Bill.  She is survived by her daughter, Sara (Bruce) Weaver and son, Jim ( Cindy) Showman; 6 grandchildren, Andrew (Amber), Amy and Ryan (Jennifer Ross) Weaver, Daniel (Jamie), Erich and Stephen (Maggie) Showman; 3 great-grandchildren, Andrew, Adam and Jack Weaver; sister, Doris Barron; brother, JR (Ginger) Clawson; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Grace was retired from Mobil Chemical and spent many winters in Largo, Florida both with her husband Bill and continuing after he passed away.  She enjoyed playing cards, square dancing and was an avid reader; especially romantic mysteries.  Her children, Sara and Jim, remember the pie parties in which each neighbor would make a pie and then the group would get together and share their desserts.  Grace was one of the many people of her generation who would tune into the Lawrence Welk Show. She enjoyed the singing and the dancing that was broadcasted across America each week.  Most of all, Sara and Jim state that Grace enjoyed her grandchildren as much as anything else in this world.

Friends may call on Friday, June 20, 2014 from 4-7PM at the Murphy Funeral & Cremation Chapel, 123 East Jackson Street, Palmyra, NY 14522,  where a memorial service will be offered on Saturday, June 21, 2014 at 10AM.  Interment will be private.  Memorials in memory of Grace may be made to the Palmyra First United Methodist Church Memorial Fund, 109 Church Street, Palmyra, NY 14522.  Online condolences may be left at www.murphyfuneralservices.com
