IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Irma L.
Norton
May 11, 1933 – November 29, 2025
Irma Lucille Norton (Brasser), age 92, passed away peacefully on November 29, 2025, in Rochester, New York. Born on May 11, 1933, in Fairport, New York, Irma lived a long and meaningful life marked by kindness, grace, and a deep love for nature and animals.
She graduated from Wayne Central High School in Ontario, NY, and went on to build a life rooted in family and community. Irma was known for her gentle spirit and genuine warmth. Her smile lit up every room she entered, and her caring nature left a lasting impression on all who knew her.
As a young woman, Irma found joy in horseback riding—a passion that reflected her adventurous heart. Over the years, she cultivated an extraordinary talent for flower gardening. Her yard was often admired for its vibrant blooms and meticulous care; it was a living testament to her patience and love of beauty. Dogs held a special place in Irma's heart. Neighborhood dogs would often stop by her home for treats—an endearing ritual that spoke volumes about her nurturing soul.
Irma's legacy lives on through her loving family: daughter Robin (Robert) Williamson; son Todd (Kimberly) Norton; daughter-in-law Michelle Norton; grandchildren Taylor Williamson, Alicia (Jason) Martin, and Bryce (Adrianna) Norton; one great-grandson Brett J Norton II; and many nieces and nephews who cherished her deeply.
She was predeceased by her parents Wilber J. Sr. and Ada H. Brasser; sister Betty (Roland) Kutruff; brothers Russell (Nancy) Brasser and Wilber J. Jr. (Betty) Brasser; companion Albert Schnable Sr.; ex-husband Harry Norton; beloved son Brett J. Norton; and many nephews.
Irma's compassion extended beyond people to the animals she adored. In keeping with this lifelong devotion, her pacemaker will be donated to a university veterinary program to help extend the life of a dog—an act that perfectly encapsulates her generous spirit.
The family extends heartfelt thanks to Irma's friends and neighbors who embraced her as one of their own. Your kindness, support, and companionship allowed Irma to remain in the comfort of her home—a gift beyond measure. We are forever grateful for your love and care.
