Ocke, Irma M.

Ontario:  Irma M. Ocke passed away on Monday, April 27, 2015 at the age of 95.  Irma was born in Ontario, NY to the late Ray and Rosa (DePapa) Whitcomb.  She was predeceased by her beloved husband John in 1992, her daughter Rosemary and son Duane.  She is survived by her son Dennis Ocke, 9 Grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other family and friends.  She is also survived by her very dear and close friend, Ray Sipple.

Irma lived a very long and full life in Ontario, NY.  She will be remembered for her great sense of humor.  She loved to fish walleye with her husband John.  They also enjoyed teaching their grandchildren to fish and the occasions that they spent at the family cottage on Oneida Lake in Central, NY.  She spent many years as a member of the Order of Eastern Star.  Irma enjoyed playing the piano, crocheting, gardening and collecting minature bells.  She enjoyed nature and had a fondness for birds.  Irma was a lifelong member of the First Baptist Church of Ontario, NY.

Friends and family are invited to gather for a time of visitation on Friday, May 1, 2015 from 9-11AM at the Murphy Funeral & Cremation Chapels, 1961 Ridge Road, Ontario, NY 14519, where a funeral service will follow at 11AM.  Interment will be in Furnaceville Cemetery.  Memorials in memory of Irma may be directed to the First Baptist Church of Ontario, 1929 Ridge Road, Ontario, NY 14519.  Online condolences may be left at www.murphyfuneralservices.com .
