James M. Beckenbach

Perinton: Formerly of Macedon, NY, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on September 7, 2015 at age 82.  James was born in Warren, PA on June 1, 1933.  He graduated from Borden Town Military Institute.  James proudly served his country in the United States Army, from 1953-1956, during the Korean War and was stationed in Austria.  When raising his family, James was very active with his sons' sports teams.  As his sons grew older, they started their own businesses, which James enjoyed helping with often.  James also owned and operated two businesses and his last business was located in Macedon, NY. James enjoyed watching baseball and hockey.  He was an avid Yankees and Sabres fan. He enjoyed attending antique auctions and was actively involved in Macedon Village matters.  Above all, James really enjoyed being around his grandchildren and great grandchildren.

James is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 60 years, Elsie Beckenbach; sons, Martin (Diane), Jeff (Terri) and Jim (Tracy) Beckenbach; grandchildren, Jeffrey, Jr. (Cara), Ian, Sam, Dominika, Heather (Joe), Ricky and Emma; great grandchildren, Skyler and Gunnar; niece, Misty Beckenbach; nephew, Mark Beckenbach.

Friends may join the family on Tuesday (September 15) from 5-9 PM at Murphy Funeral & Cremation Chapels, 1040 Route 31, Macedon, NY, 14502, where James' funeral service will be held on Wednesday (September 16) at 11 AM.
