James Stuart Dye   "Jim"

Walworth:  Jim passed away on May 23, 2016 at the age of 75.  Jim was born on July 4, 1940 in Hornell, NY to the late Stuart and Madelyn "Hungerford" Dye.  He was predeceased by his son Michael.  He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Linda; son, Rick (Katherine) Dye; daughter-in-law (Michael's wife) Maria Dye; grandchildren, Jessica Dye, James (Krista) Dye, Sara Dye, Amanda Dye, Christine Dye, James Eddy and Patricia Merrick; 5 great grandchildren with another on the way; nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Jim loved spending time with his family.  He enjoyed  fishing and camping.  He worked for more than thirty years with Gleason Works, in Rochester, where he did a lot of traveling around the world.  Gleason works sold off his division and he spent another ten years working for them in the same capacity.  Linda says that one of their favorite places to visit was Booth Bay Harbor, Maine.    Jim also enjoyed collecting coins and his daughter-in-law Katherine seems to remember him having a sweet tooth.  His son Rick, humbly, states that his father was " the smartest man he ever met" and that "he taught him everything he knows".  Jim will be missed by his family and friends.

Family and friends  are invited to gather for a time of visitation on Sunday, May 29, 2016 from 2 to 5PM at the Murphy Funeral & Cremation Chapel, 1961 Ridge Road, Ontario, NY 14519.  Funeral services and interment will be held at a later date.  In lieu of flowers,  the family asks that, in memory of Jim,  you consider a donation to the American Kidney Fund at www.kidneyfund.org  .  Online condolences may be left at www.murphyfuneralservices.com
