Walworth – James passed away on December 31, 2024 at age 78.  He was born to the late Oliver and Ruth Knox.

James is survived by his wife of 59 years, Patricia Knox; children, James (Lauren) Knox, Jr, Pamela (Peter) Haak, Jennifer (John) Hockman, and Jarrod (Kimberly) Knox; 9 grandchildren; 1 great grandchild; 6 siblings and several nieces and nephews.

James believed in service to family and community, and was involved in the Pal-Mac and Macedon Youth Athletic Leagues, and the Macedon Center Volunteer Fire Department. He was a strong leader and athlete, demonstrated by his organizing and coaching several tournament and league bowling and softball teams. After retirement, he enjoyed chasing his grandchildren around the country, supporting them in all of their pursuits. He leaves an enormous void in all the lives he touched.

Family and friends may gather for visitation from 3-6 PM on Sunday (January 5, 2025) at Murphy Funeral & Cremation Chapels, 1040 Rte. 31, Macedon, NY 14502.
