On September 19, 2025 in the comfort of his home, Jim left us to walk with the Lord.  He was surrounded by his granddaughter Felicia and family.  Jim was born in Hamilton, Canada to the late Cecil and Audrey Makins.  He was also predeceased by his wife Cora Ann Makins and sons, Rick Makins, Laben and Richard Rickman; and brother Robert Makins.

He is survived by his caregiver granddaughter Felicia (Todd) Marconi and great grandchildren Alexis and Dylan as well Richard S. and other grandchildren; children Lynn Myers, Doug Makins, Debra Stults, and Karen Kelly.

Jim's funeral service will be held on Saturday, September 27, 2025, at 2 pm at North Ontario Methodist Church, 7200 Ontario Center Rd., Ontario, NY 14519.
