Ontario – James passed away on May 6, 2025 at age 61.  He was predeceased by his father, Rexford Sharpstene and brother, Stephen Sharpstene.

James is survived by his wife, Laura; children, Seana (Jeffrey) Caine, Justin  Sharpstene, and Anthony Sharpstene (Alexis Smith); mother, Margaret Sharpstene; siblings, Scott (Amy) Sharpstene and Jan Marie (Bill) Reger; several nieces and nephews.

Family and friends may gather for visitation from 4-7PM on Thursday (May 22) at Murphy Funeral & Cremation Chapels, 1961 Ridge Rd., Ontario, NY 14519, where his memorial service will be held on Friday (May 23) at 10:30 AM. Following the services, James will be laid to rest in Furnaceville Cemetery.
